When we look to the outliers, misfits, and visionaries... the creators, makers, artists, musicians, writers,, architects, inventors ...  only then can we start to connect the dots that don’t exist yet, create what’s not yet even been imagined, and make the world a better place along the way.
Fashion Runway Design for Isaac Mizrahi Spring/Summer 2009 creating an environment at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom that evoked transformation through color and light. Inspired by the work of Olafur Eliasson, custom sodium vapor fixtures developed in collaboration with LD Michael Chybowski illuminated the first leg of the u-shaped runway with a dull orange cast. Stepping from UV into sodium vapor light, only the silhouettes and textures of collection were perceived as the models began their walk. Somewhat like a moth to butterfly, the models then walked into incandescent light along the second leg of the runway, revealing the vibrant color and stunning elegance of the new collection.
