For the Fall / Winter 2007 collection of Y-3, our client selected the Hunter College Gymnasium as the venue, and sought a branded space that would evoke the fast-paced, rapid-fire nature of motor sports and timed racing.
We created a looped runway, wrapped around the gymnasium floor, that was newly clad in black. With phosphorescent orange lines highlighting the space, the runway was articulated with LED versa-tubes inset within a gloss black plexiglass walking surface. At the ends of the gym stood a random array of LED walls, across which mono-chromatic motion graphics, clocks, and film clips raced to the pace of the flashing LED lit runway, and night-club intense sound scape.
